Langley AFB, nicholsl@acccons.langley.af.mil. This is a Sources Sought
synopsis seeking potential sources to provide Integrated Logistics
Support for approximately thirty (30) Air Combat Command (ACC)
Surveillance Tracking and Radar Processors (STRAPs) located in the
CONUS and South America. STRAP is an integrated Primary Surveillance
and Secondary Surveillance Radar Target Extractor and Tracker used by
ACC to rapidly integrate different radar systems into selected command
and control facilities. It is a commercial off-shelf Non-Developmental
Item (NDI) consisting of a 20-slot 6U/VME monolithic backplane system
and Sun SPARC 5 workstation. It emphasizes open architecture
technologies -- VME bus, "C" software language, VRTX and UNIX operating
systems and Motorola 68040 based single-board computers. The current
source of these items is Sensis Corporation. Detailed hardware and
software technical data is not available for these items. Test
equipment is commercially available to support STRAP. The Government
seeks potential sources for anticipated acquisition of maintenance and
repair services for the STRAP in support of ACC Combat Operations.
Maintenance and repair services are to include all parts, labor,
material and travel required to maintain the complete system at a 99%
availability rate. Spares must be provided that are physically and
functionally interchangeable with the units provided by current source
and must be warranted to perform as required. Maintenance and repair
services will be required on a 24 hour per day, seven days a week
basis, including all holidays and/or government administrative days for
365/366 days a year. Maintenance support may be required in high threat
environments. Responses from potential sources must include
documentation such as equipment test results, copies of purchase orders
if the source was a vendor to the current source, or a statement from
the current source demonstrating spares compatibility. Any commercially
available pricing information is also requested. The names and
addresses of the sources responding will be incorporated into a mailing
list which may be used at a later date to issue request for proposals
(RFP). All responsible sources of the entire procurement or any part of
the procurement are invited to respond. Submit responses in writing to
ACC CONS/LGCT, ATTN: Lois B. Nicholson, 227 Hunting Ave, Suite 301,
Langley AFB VA 23665-2771 not later than 15 June 1997. Telephone or
telefax responses will not be accepted. Please indicate your business
size (large or small, women-owned or small-disadvantaged). The
Government WILL NOT PAY for information provided in response to this
synopsis. This request is not a formal RFP and NO contract will result
from this synopsis. Any subsequent solicitation will be synopsized
prior to its release. (0132) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0270 19970514\99-0004.SOL)
