SLOVAK REPUBLIC: MODIFICATION IN OBLIGATORY STATUS CONCERNING STN 46 1100-2 FOOD CEREALS. FOOD WHEAT. + AMENDMENT 1 The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.97.187. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: SLOVAK REPUBLIC. If applicable, name of local government involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2). 2. Agency responsible: Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing (UNMS SR), Slovak Ministry of Agriculture. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: Modification in Obligatory Status Concerning STN 46 1100-2 Food Cereals. Food Wheat. + Amendment 1 (5 pages, available in Slovak). 6. Description of content: Amendment 1 concerning Slovak Standard STN 46 1100-2 Food Cereals. Food Wheat, was adopted by the Slovak Ministry of Agriculture by July 1996.The original Standard was the subject of notification TBT/Notif.94.220. The above-mentioned Amendment 1 introduces modifications of the Standard in Article 2.3 and Chapters 4 and 5, respectively, dealing with criteria for evaluating food wheat at delivery, and extending number of testing methods. Now, the Slovak Ministry of Agriculture requires the Articles 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 4.1, 5 and a part of Article 2.3 related to the humidity indicator and impurity indicator to be obligatory. Obligatory status of certain articles in original Standard (of July 1994) was declared in the Decree No. 79/1994 of the Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing (TBT/Notif.94.135), and later revised in the Decree No. 83/1994 of the Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing. Postulated modification related to obligatory status of certain articles, as well as alterations in texts of the articles, requires amendment of the text of above-mentioned Decree No. 83/1994 in its item presenting STN 46 1100-2 (Food Cereals. FoodWheat), which is the subject of this notification. 7. Objective and rationale: Certain criteria for wheat evaluation given in the original Standard lost their justification. Proposed alterations both in the text of the Standard and obligatory status are made in order to simplify concluding commercial contracts. 8.
