notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6.
G/TBT/Notif.97.188. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: SLOVAK REPUBLIC.
If applicable, name of local government involved (Articles 3.2 and

apparatus used in industrial environment. 5. Title, number of pages and
language(s) of the notified document: STN EN 50081-2 -- Electromagnetic
Compatibility. Generic Emission Standard. Part 2: Industrial
Environment (22 pages, available in Slovak). 6. Description of content:
The environments encompassed by this Standard are industrial, both
indoor and outdoor. Apparatus covered bythis Standard is not intended
for connection to a public mains network but it is intended to be
connected to a power network supplied from a high or medium-voltage
transformer dedicated for the supply of an installation feeding
manufacturing or similar plant. This Standard applies to apparatus
intended to operate in industrial locations or in proximity to
industrial power installations. 7. Objective and rationale: The
objective of this Standard is to define limits and test methods for
apparatus defined in this Standard in relation to electromagnetic
emissions which may cause interference in other apparatus. The adoption
of this Standard as a compulsory regulation will facilitate the
international trade since the Standard is identical with the
internationally recognized and Europe-wide used Standard CENELEC/EN
50081-2. Obsolete and non-compatible national standards are replaced by
this Standard. The adoption of CENELEC Standard in the form of
compulsory regulation is only a temporary solution based on the ActNo.
142/1991 on Slovak Technical Standards (amended and supplemented by
the Act. No. 632/1992 and Act No. 143/1995). In the course of
approximation of the Slovak laws to the EU legislation this Act will be
brought in line with the EU New approach and Global Approach
principles, and via the adoption of relevant regulations the status of
this CENELEC Standard will be converted in the Slovak Republic into
the voluntary one. 8. Relevant documents: STN 34 2860 -- Electric
engineering regulations. Suppression of radio interference caused by
electric motors, apparatus and appliances. STN EN 50081-2 idt EN
50081-2. 9. Proposed date of adoption: Will be determined; Proposed
date of entry into force: Will be determined. 10. Final date for
comments: 30 June 1997. 11. Text available from: National enquiry
