It is anticipated that during June 1997, the U.S. Department of State, American Embassy Islamabad, Pakistan, will issue a solicitation for the operation and management of guard services and related support for the American Embassy Islamabad, Pakistan, and U.S. Consulates in Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar. No deadline for receipt of offers has been established yet: it will be established upon issuance of the solicitation. The contractor shall furnish managerial, administrative and direct labor personnel to accomplish all work as required under this contract. The solicitation is for a base year with four one-year options. All responsible offerors may submit a proposal which shall be considered. It will be issued on the Internet at http://www.statebuy.inter.net/home.htm and on the Department's electronic bulletin board: (703) 875-4945. It will not be issued by other methods, except upon special request submitted in writing, and then it will only be sent by regular mail. Telephone requests will not be honored. Disks will not be sent. Due to budget constraints, express mail service will not be used by the Government for issuance of the basic solicitation or any subsequent amendments or questions and answers. Since Internet and BBS access will be available immediately upon issuance of the RFP, the Government will not extend the proposal due date as a result of late receipt of a paper RFP by a prospective offeror.
