University of California, which operates the Los Alamos National
Laboratory (LANL) under contract to the Department of Energy, solicits
interest from companies wishing to license, develop and market
Parallel Data Mining Agents (PADMA) software which is an agent based
architecture for parallel/distributed data mining. PADMA is a flexible
system that will exploit data mining agents of the particular
application in hand, such as: Detecting Disease Outbreaks or Tracking
Financial Trajectories. PADMA is not specialized for any particular
kind of data mining domain, the current implementation uses agents
specializing in unstructured text document classification. The software
offers good response time using scaleable data mining and data
accessing operations. Any organization with interests in the above
subject must respond with a statement of intent describing the
organization's technical expertise, manufacturing and marketing
capabilities, financial resources (e.g., annual report or corporate
resume) and motivation for participating in this program. The statement
must be dated within fourteen (14) calendar days of the date of this
