The solicitation should be issued on or about 20 June 1997 with a 30 day closing period. This requirement provides for the laundering of such laundry items such as linen articles (i.e., sheets, bedspreads, pillow cases, mattress pads, foam pillows, etc.) and organizational items (i.e., blankets, poncho liners, coveralls, field jackets, refrigeration jackets, tablecloths, etc.). Delivery of laundered items shall be within 48 hours of pick-up -- -- pick-up at and delivery to the Supply Dept., Bldg 209, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay, HI -- 29 items, approx. 154,970 pieces/units. A requirements type contract is anticipated with the contract performance period to be 1 October 1997 through 30 September 1998 with two (2) 12-month option periods, and services purchased by issuance of a delivery order against resultant contract. The Government intends to include the clause FAR 52-217-8, Optionto Extend Services, in the solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by agency.
