The Flathead National Forest will be advertising a Request for Quotations for Construction/Reconstruction of Big River Cribbing -- Trail No. 155, Hungry Horse Ranger District, Flathead County, Montana. Work consists of 1.4 miles of trail work including construction of treated timber retaining walls (Government-furnished materials), clearing and grubbing, excavation, tread work, drainage dips, waterbars, and shallow stream fords. Some rock blasting may be required. This project is located along the Middle Fork of the Flathead River within the Great Bear wilderness area; therefore, motorized equipment shall not be used. Issue date, May 30, 1997. The Notice to Proceed will be issued approximately August 1, 1997, with an estimated completion date of August 20, 1998.
