R -- THERMAL MAN EVALUATION TESTS SOL DAAK60-97-T-7222 DUE 060697 POC Contract Specialist ELAINE M. SCARNICI (508) 233-4585 (Site Code DAAK60) US Army Soldier System Command, has a requirement for Thermal Man Evaluations needed to test flame resistant aviator and combat vehicle crewmen's clothing systems. The evaluations require five (5) different aviator and combat vehicle crewmen's clothing systems at 2 calories /centimeter squarded/second. Each system shall be exposed to this flame hazard for three (3) seconds, four (4) seconds, and six (6) seconds. All trials shall be video taped for each exposure time period and predicted burn patterns developed for each system and exposure time. In addition, TTP evaluations of the individual materials used in the systems are required. The Government will provide the required fabric yardage for TTP evaluations, a complete list of the clothing configurations to be evaluated and all of the actual clothing items (in the quantities required to perform the testing requested) to the resultant contractor as Government Furnished Property. Delivery is F.O.B. Destination. Responses must be in received in WRITING ONLY within fifteen (15) days of this notice. This acquisition will be conducted as a full and open competition.
