S -- - NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATE A SOLE-SOURCE PO WITH SE ALASKA GUIDANCE ASSOCIATION Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with the Southeast Alaska Guidance Association (SAGA). Purpose of contract is to collect and process monitor stream (Duck Creek) in Juneau, Alaska, collect data, and provide a written report on tasks that will help establish baseline conditions and identify restoration techniques for improving water quality and anadromous fish habitat. Specifically, contractor will 1) monitor monthly concentration of hydrocarbons using Semi-permeable Membrane Devices, 2) analyze gravel substrate samples previously collected from Duck Creek, and 3) conduct routine sampling for dissolved oxygen, pH, temperature, conductivity, turbidity, and other specified parameters at selected sites on Duck Creek and control streams. Sources responding to this notice must have qualifications and experience to conduct above tasks. Period of contract is from date of award through 12/31/97. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $50,000.
