Z -- The U.S. Dept. of Commerce/National Weather Service intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Cisco Systems to provide maintenance coverage on the three Cisco 7000 routers, two Cisco 7513 routers and two Cisco WS-X1441 CDDI/FDDI concentrators located in the NWSTG (National Weather Service Technical Group). The software support required for self-maintenance is based on proprietary information available only from the Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) or authorized Cisco dealers. Replacement hardware for faulty items, must be manufactured by the OEM to be compatible with existing units in which they will be installed. Other sources capable of satisfying this requirement are invited to submit information as to their capabilities and any other pertinent data to the address above, to be received no later than 15 days after the date of this notice. No solicitation document exists, therefore a request for such document will not be considered. Award will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. (Reference No. 7-3267). (0135)
