The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC)90-46. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) #70317. This solicitation is under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) Test Program, on an unrestricted basis. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) is 3569. This will be a Firm-Fixed Price Contract. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate this contract action on a sole source basis with Remotec, Inc., 114 Union Valley Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. Sole source determination based on market research conducted on the Internet. The objective of this contract is to obtain sophisticated robotic devices capable of bomb detection and disposal. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive bids. However, all bids received within ten (10) calendar days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
