(202) 782-1103, Contracting Officer. The Program Management Office of
the DoD Occupational Health Readiness System (DOHRS) is conducting a
market survey to identify sources which may be capable of providing
commercially available off-the-shelf software products to access the
functional and technical attributes of the occupational health
information systems that are currently available or will be available
within the next six months. Primary focus of the DOHRS program is
automated support for the industrial hygiene occupational medicine, and
hearing conservation programs within the Military Health Services
System (MHSS) and required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act of
1970. The system would be used to support approximately 600 DoD
worksites & clinics worldwide. Users would be site-based industrial
hygienists and occupational health care providers responsible for
protecting DoD employees from job-related hazards. The system will also
be used for enterprise wide analysis and decision making to support
standardization of occupational health business practices and promotion
of the wellness and readiness of active and reserve component
personnel. An Objective of this survey is to obtain an understanding of
and making assessments about the availability, applicability
suitability and approximate cost of an integrated solution comprised of
one or more commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products which collectively
support the following functions: 1. maintain employee demographic
records; 2. assesses workplace health hazards and risks; 3. surveys
health & illness in employee population; 4. tracks employee
occupational exposures; 5. recommends/develops prevention measures; 6.
provides training and education; 7. collects & disseminates
occupational illness surveillance data; 8. conducts epidemiological
studies in occupational health; 9. identifies potential compensation &
disability costs; 10. monitors OHSA compliance; 11. maintains
centralized corporate executive database; 12. provides administrative
planning and record keeping; Technical -- PC based client/server
architecture w/graphical user interface, support for and compliance
with the following standards: MHSS Health Information Infrastructure
(HII), Defense Information Infrastructure common operating environment
(DII COE), Technical Architecture Framework for Information Management
(TAFIM), and Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA).

commercial and/or GSA schedule prices for application and system
software products, software integration, training and implementation
support; 6. customer references using some or all of the occupational
