Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division seeks potential sources for
the following requirement. The Naval Test Wing Atlantic (NTWL)
Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD) Support Equipment
(SE) Division at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division
(NAWCAD)located at Patuxent River, Maryland has a requirement for
aircraft support equipment maintenance services. These services are
currently performed by the Government and a cost comparison will be
conducted, under OMB Circular No. A-76, Commercial Activities Studies,
to determine the most cost effective mode of operation. Specifically,
the AIMD SE Division performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on
support equipment used to support tenant and transient aircraft
maintenance requirements. These duties include maintaining the
equipment in a ready-for-use status, performing limited repairs to
defects in the equipment and maintaining equipment in a preserved
status when not in use for extended periods of time. The following
types of SE are maintained at AIMD Patuxent River: Aircraft Engine
Start Units (5 Models); Diesel and Electric Powered Mobile and Portable
Electric Power Plants (7 Models); Engine and Shelter Air Preheaters;
Pre-Oiling Heater Machines; Diesel and Low Pressure Air Driven
Corrosion Control Carts; Aircraft Cleaning Machines; Gas and Diesel
Driven Aircraft Tow Tractors (10 to 35 Ton); Diesel and Gas Driven
Weapons (SATS) Loaders; Bomb Hoists (Gas Driven 2 Cycle Engine); Diesel
and Electric Powered Manlifts; Deicer Trucks (Trump); Light Carts (Gas
and Diesel Powered); Diesel and Electric Powered High Capacity (30
Ton) Aircraft Air Conditioner Carts; Jet Stream Cleaners; Diesel and
Electric Powered Portable Hydraulic Test Stands (Jenny); Hydraulic
Check and Fill Carts; Hydraulic Fluid Purifier Carts; Portable
Hydraulic Dispensing Carts; Portable Nitrogen Carts (4 Models);
Portable Nitrogen Walk-Around Bottles; Portable Nitrogen Servicing Hand
Pump Carts; Liquid Oxygen Carts (3 Models); Gaseous Oxygen Servicing
Carts (2Models); AN/AWG-9 Liquid Coolant Servicing Unit; Diesel Powered
Portable Landing Gear Servicing Stand (HydroMite); Electric Powered
Portable Electric Dummy Load; Portable Air Compressor (Sullair);
Vacu-Blast Dry Honers; Mobile and Portable Maintenance Cranes (Diesel,
Electric, and Manual); Various Aircraft Jacks; Various Aircraft Tow
Bars; Various Aircraft Slings; Aircraft Work Stands (3 Models); Various
Engine Stands; Aircraft Stair Case; Misc. Meters and Analyzers; Misc.
Aircraft Equipment Adapters; and Mobil Floor Sweeper. All maintenance
actions are directed by OPNAVINST 4790 (NAMP), local maintenance
instructions, and equipment maintenance manuals. The anticipated
contract type is Indefinite-Delivery-Indefinite-Quantity with the
issuance of Firm-Fixed Price delivery orders. The projected period of
performance is a base year and four option years. Award will be made in
accordance with Part I, Chapter 3, Paragraph H, under OMB Circular No.
A-76. An industry briefing will be held on 18 June 1997 to
providegeneral information about the organization and to answer general
questions about the requirement. Interested parties should fax their
request to attend the briefing to Mike Logan, FAX number (301) 342-1853
by 9 June 1997. In order to ensure access to the base, this request
should include the name of the company and the name and social security
number of the individual attending the conference. Limit one person per
company. The estimated date of issuance of the solicitation is December
1997. Requests for copies of the solicitation must be sent to Mike

Whalen Road, Unit 588, Patuxent River, Maryland, 20670-1463. No
solicitation documents exist at this time. All responsible sources may
attend the briefing, request copies of the solicitation, and shall be
considered by the agency unless this synopsis is amended or replaced.
