equipment necessary to perform drydock repairs to the USCGC TAMPA
(WMEC-902) including but not limited to the following minimum items:
(1) Renew watertight scuttle and strengthen forecastle deck, (2) Repair
Ballast Tank, (3) Overhaul stern tube seals, (4) Service both onboard
controllable pitch propeller systems, (5) Preserve the transducer hull
rings and renew the depth indicating transducers, (6) Preserve the
transducer hull ring and renew DSN-450 Doppler speed log, (7) Overhaul,
renew and test valves, (8) Install magazine sprinkler valves, (9)
Service Potable water tanks, (10) Service Rudder Assemblies, (11) Renew
Fin stabilizer seals and bearings, (12) Preserve antennas and antenna
foundations, (13) Preserve chain lockers, (14) Preserve main mast, (15)
Coating thickness measurement-non destructive, (16) Clean and inspect
void, (17) Preserve ballast tanks, (18) Preserve freeboard, (19)
Preserve superstructure, (20) Provide Temporary Messing, (21) Provide
Temporary Berthing, (22) Provide Temporary Logistics, (23) Routine
drydocking, etc. Indefinite items include but are not limited to the
following items: (1) Port Shaft Bearings,(2) Starboard shaft Bearings,
(3) Service Both Controllable Pitch Propeller Hubs, (4) Replacement
Hub,(5) 10-inch Waster Piece Renewal, (6) 8-inch Waster piece Renewal,
(7) 6-inch waster piece renewal, (8) Rudder Stock Repairs, (9) Lower
Bearing Renewal, (10) Renew Fin Shaft sleeve, (11) Coating thickness
measurement destructive (100 sqft), (12) Preserve underwater body, (13)
Renew corrosion preventive zinc anodes, (14) Ultrasonic testing, (15)
Provide addt'l. temporary messing, (16) Provide addt'l. temporary
berthing, (17) Provide addt'l. temporary logistics, etc. Vessel is a
270 Foot "A" Class Medium Endurance Cutter. Vessel length is 270 feet;
width is 37 feet, 9-3/8 inches. Vessel homepier is Portsmouth, VA.
Vessel availability schedule is on or about 25 Aug 1997. Performance
period is scheduled for 42 calendar days. The place of performance
isgeographically restricted to the Tidewater area. There will be a
non-refundable charge of $100.00 in the form of a certified check or
money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested
drawings. Orders must be placed within ten (10) days of solicitation
issuance. The proposed contract listed here is part of the Small
Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Plans and
specifications will be issued on or after 04 Jun 1997 from our office
