will issue Request for Proposals for the design and construction of
CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER, F.E. WARREN AFB, WYOMING. Proposals will be
received on or about 09 July 1997. This solicitation is unrestricted
and open to both large and small business participation. Contractors
interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work should contact
the F. E. Warren Resident Engineer, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Bldg.
305, 5607 5th Calvary Ave, F. E. Warren AFB, WY 82005-5000, Telephone:
(307) 775-3006. FAX (307) 638-2412. The work will include the
following: (Approx. quantities) Design and construction of Child
Development Center includes: 19,500 square feet single story building
for up to 144 children (combination of infants, pre-toddlers and
toddlers); support offices for the staff; a kitchen; and a laundry;
mechanical HVAC; wet pipe fire protection sprinkler system;
installation of playground equipment (preschool, toddler and infant);
playground hardscape includes: sidewalks, synthetic safety surfacing,
pea gravel play areas, planter boxes, water fountains and service
lines; chainlink fence; trees, shrubs and irrigation system; seeding
and sodding; asphalt parking area with concrete curb and gutter;
concrete service drive; new underground power distribution system and
loop feed type pad-mounted transformer; domestic water service lines,
fire protection water lines, and sanitary wastewater collection; gas
distribution service line; cathodic protection. The estimated design
and construction cost of this project is between $2,500,000 and
$5,000,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this
contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10
days after notice to proceed and complete the work within the time
period submitted with the proposal. After receipt of Notice to Proceed.
Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure
to complete the work in the time allowed. The proposal documents are
available on CompactDisk (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge.
It has been determined that the number of Compact Disks be limited to
one (1) per firm. Proposal documents will not be provided in a printed
hard copy format. Contractors may view and/or download this project
