The work includes replacing three vertical turbine saltwater pumps, motors (600 hp), variable frequency drives, and 480V switchgear; associated piping, valves, and surge relief system; providing and installing two new 15 kV switchgear section to an existing line-up; providing and installing two new 2MVA oil-filled transformers; providing and installing a PLC-based control panel and incorporating new and existing pump controls; and incidental related work. During performance of this work, asbestos, hazardous waste, or pollution abatement may be encountred. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 1623. The related small business size standard is $17 million. The estimated cost range is between $1,000,000 and $2,500,000. Performance period is 300 calendar days. Plans and specifications will be available on or about 02 June 1997. The estimated bid opening date is 02 July 1997.
