Jeffrey Lamke, Jeffrey.C.Lamke.1@gsfc.nasa.gov. NASA/GSFC plans to
issue a Draft Request for Proposal (DRFP) for the Rapid Spacecraft
Acquisition. NASA/GSFC intends to award multiple
Fixed-Priced/Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contracts for
satellite core systems and all necessary design, development,
fabrication, intergration, test, launch support, and on-orbit check-out
and operations support to meet the Government's space science, earth
science, and technology needs. We anticipate release of the DRFP on
about May 16, with an anticipated due date for industry comments on or
about May 27, 1997. We anticipate release of the final RFP on or about
June 16, 1997 with proposals due fourty-five (45) days later. The DRFP
and the final RFP will be posted to the World Wide Web (WWW) on the
NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) homepage, and on the Rapid
Spacecraft Acquisition homepage. The WWW address, or URL for NAIS and
the rapid spacecraft Acquisition homepages are
(http://procurement.nasa.gov and http://genesis.nasa.gsfc.gov)
respectively. This announcement is intended to satisfy the requirements
of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 5.201 and 5.203 for
the final solicitation and no further CBD announcements are
anticipated. Prospective offerors shall notify this office of their
intent to submit an offer. It is the offeror's responsibility to
monitor this site for the release of the solicitation and amendments
(if any). Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their
own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Hard copies may
be obtained from the identified point of contact; however, the closing
date for the hard copy received shall be the same as the solicitation,
inclusive of any amendments, released on the Internet. See Numbered
