02544) 703/602-8000 x594 The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and
the Program Executive Office for Theater Air Defense [PEO(TAD)] propose
to acquire the AN/SLY-2(V), Advanced Integrated Electronic Warfare
System (AIEWS). Supplies and services will include five (5) AIEWS
Engineering Development Models (EDMs) for Increment 1; options for up
to 12 Low-Rate-Initial-Production (LRIP) units for Increment 1; up to
12 Increment 1 production units for FY 02; up to16 Increment 1
production units for FY 03; up to 14 Increment 1 production units for
FY 04; five (5) Increment 2 EDMs; up to ten (10) LRIPs for Increment 2;
and options for engineering services and software support activity.
Request For Proposal (RFP) N00024-97-R-5478 will be issued on a
competitive basis on approximately 6 June 1997. AN/SLY-2(V), AIEWS is
the Navy's next generation shipboard Electronic Warfare (EW) system
planned for use with the Integrated Ship Defense System (ISDS) and the
AEGIS Combat System (ACS). AN/SLY-2(V), AIEWS will be developed as an
integral element of the ship's combat system in two (2) increments.
AN/SLY-2(V), AIEWS will use an open architecture to allow technology
insertion and facilitate use of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and
Non-Developmental Items (NDI). The system will be developed to
provide/support layered and coordinated countermeasures in the littoral
operational environment, with special emphasis on the full integration
of all soft-kill elements into the ship's Anti-Air Warfare (AAW)
systems. The security requirements for AIEWS require that any potential
offeror must possess a SECRET facility clearance, and a SECRET storage
capability or be eligible for a clearance. Interested offerors should
respond to this announcement in writing to the attention of Ms. Kelly
L. Sherman (SEA 0254K). Interested offerors who did not respond to
prior CBD announcements or who need to update security information
should include the following : 1.) security clearance information; 2.)
CAGE Code; 3.) unclassified mailing address; 4.) classified mailing
address; and 5.) a brief summary of capabilities. The unclassified
portions of the RFP will be available via internet address
http://www.contracts.hq.navsea.navy.mil. Classified documentation will
be sent in accordance with DoD 5220.22-M, National Industrial Security
Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). Additional classified documentation
is available for industry review from 0900 to 1500 weekdays at a
library resident at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Washington, DC
