The Government intends to purchase an optical detection system including optical spectrograph, CCD Spectroscopic Detection system, including accessories -- one (1) each. This system will be used for detecting, measuring and recording a microsecond duration light pulse emitted from a shocked material. The items in this system must work as a unit. All items must be compatible with each other. The items will not be purchase from separate vendors. Each vendor that responds to this request must provide written and signed documentation and certification papers that the items have been tested and demonstrated to work within this complete detecting system. Each vendor must have a demonstrated record for developing, designing, manufacturing and using optical spectrographs, diffraction gratings, CCD detection systems, and other optical instrumentation. Also required is an experienced technical staff that will be available for assistance with the setup and use of the prurchased optical system. Any vendor that responds should send detailed specifications for the required optical system. These specifications will be reviewed prior to the purchase of any system, and may be used to recommend either accepting or rejecting a particular bid. The vendor should be prepared to demonstrate total system operation at NSWCDD during the bid selection process at no charge to the Government if requested. Award is to be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
