Triangle Park, NC facility, requires equipment to provide constant,
consistent and accurate feeding of dry powders (lime, kaolinite,
bauxite, and fly ash) to study in-situ sorption of pollutants within
pilot scale in-house combustors. The Government intends to negotiate on
a sole source basis with K-TRON North America for a twin screw compact
loss-in-weight feeder with horizontal agitator and vertical discharge
with flexible discharge boot (K-TRON Model KCL24KT20), including a
K-TRON K-10S Chassis Controller with Loss-in-Weight Software mounted in
NEMA 12 Wall Mount Enclosure, UL Certified. Minimum specifications are
as follows: Material: Hydrated Lime; (2) Feedrate: 3 Grams/Minute; (3)
Material Bulk Density: 40 lb/ft3 (estimated); (4) Feeder Hopper: 0.4
ft3 Cyclinder; (5) Electrical Requirement: 115 VAC, Single Phase, 60
HZ, UL Certification; (6) Material Temperature: 60-80 Degrees F; (7)
Must be interchangeable with existing identical K-TRON feeder. The
request for quotation is not available. Any firm that feels it can
provide equipment which meets the Government's minimum specifications
must provide sufficient documentation within 15 days of publication of
