05/08/97. The Federal Bureau of Prisons seeks qualified organizations
capable of providing inpatient/outpatient medical services for federal
prisoners at the Federal Correctional Institution, Memphis, TN. The
Contractor shall furnish facilities, equipment and personnel necessary
for medical care. The guaranteed minimum/maximum requirements for
Inpatient/Outpatient Hospital Services are listed as follows: Base
Year: 40 days minimum / 150 days estimated maximum; Option Year One: 45
days minimum / 160 days estimated maximum; Option Year Two: 50 days
minimum / 170 days estimated maximum; Option Year Three: 50 days
minimum / 180 days estimated maximum; Option Year Four: 50 days minimum
/ 190 days estimated maximum. The guaranted minimum/maximum requirement
for Inpatient/Outpatient Physician Services are listed as follows: Base
Year: 40 outpatient visits / 100 estimated maximum outpatient visits;
Option Year One: 45 outpatient visits / 110 estimated maximum
outpatient visits; Option Year Two: 50 outpatient visits / 120
estimated maximum outpatient visits; Option Year Three: 50 outpatient
visits / 130 estimated maximum outpatient visits; Option Year Four: 50
outpatient visits / 140 estimated maximum outpatient visits. The
proposed contract period will be a base year, plus four (4) one- year
options, for a total of five years; (Base Year: Date of contract award
through 12 months; Option Year One: 13 months through 24 months;
Option Year Two: 25 months through 36 months; Option Year Three: 37
months through 48 months; Option Year Four: 49 months through 60
months). The Standard Industrial Code for this acquisition is 8062.
Multiple award of contracts is anticipated. Contractors are advised
that award can be made without the benefit of discussions, and are
encouraged to submit initial proposals to reflect all of the
requirements of the solicitation. This acquisition is not set-aside for
