ACQUISITION RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM: ROCKVILLE, MD WEDNESDAY, JUNE 25 1997 THROUGH FRIDAY, JUNE 27 1997 A three day Acquisition Symposium on Acquisition for the Future: Imagination, Innovation & Implementation will be held starting at 0800 on June 25 and will end at 1200 noon on June 27, 1997 at the Doubletree Hotel, 1750 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD. SUBTHEME: Acquisition Reform: Sustaining the Momentum -- Full Speed Ahead. The symposium is sponsored by the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition Reform. AGENDA: The Keynote Speaker is Mr. Norm Augustine, Chairman, Lockheed-Martin Corporation (June 25th). Guest Speakers include: Mr. Philip Odeen, BDM International and Member, Defense Science Board, The Honorable Steven J. Kelman, Administrator for Federal Procurement Policy; Office Management and Budget, Ms. Eleanor Spector, Director Defense Procurement, Office of Acquisition and Technology, Mr. Stephen K. Conver, Lockheed-Martin, and Gen. John F. Phillips, Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Logistics). Feature panel presentations include: -- Industry Perspective on Acquisition Reform, "Where Are We Now and Where are We Going?" -- Civilian Agency Acquisition Executives, "Innovation Outside of DOD," and -- DoD Service Acquisition Executives, "Looking Ahead," moderated by the Honorable Paul G. Kaminski, Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition & Technology. BREAKOUT SESSIONS: Twenty-eight acquisition research papers will be presented during seven breakout sessions. During each session, the attendee will have the opportunity to choose between four paper presentations for each session.
