materials, supplies, and plant necessary for the construction of a
6,346 square ft. addition to the Hazardous Waste Research Center,
Building No. 3297, at Waterways Experiment Station, Vicksburg, MS. Of
this space 2,500 square feet will be laboratories, with the remainder
being office and administrative space. Construction is to be structural
steel roof framing with load bearing CMU infill and brick veneer walls,
reinforced concrete foundation, concrete slab on grade, and an
insulated sloped, standing seam metal roof. In addition, work shall
consist of the renovation of a 475 sq. ft. area in the existing
building. This shall include, but not be limited to, concrete
work/finishing, laboratory casework, installation of fume hoods,
interior renovations, and all associated electrical work and
demolition. Estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000 and
$5,000,000. The Government intends to release Solicitation No.
DACW39-97-B-0009 on or about June 6, 1997 on the Internet. Printed
specifications will not be available. Also, the Government reserves the
right to use only the Internet as notification of any amendments to
this solicitation. It is, therefore, the contractors responsibility to
view the website frequently. A minimum of thirty (30) days from the
date of release will be allowed for submission of bids (reference
solicitation for actual release date). All eligible sources may submit
