66 -- FLOW SOLUTION SINGLE CHANNEL ANALYZER SOL 97-117(Q) POC Ken Fortune, Purchasing Agent at (404)842-6781 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intend to negotiate, on a sole source basis, purchase of one Flow Solution III Single Channel Analyzer from ALPKEM, a Division of O I Analytical (9445 S.W. Ridder Road, P O Box 648, Wilsonville, OR 97070). This equipment is for the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys' (NHANES) methods of analysis of serum iron and Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) presently modified through NHANES method IV to operate in the ALPKEM continuous flow system and to be used in an upcoming National Standardization Program for serum iron and TIBC analysis. The system includes (1) a random access sampler; (2) 502 pump, 24 channel; (3) cartridge base and power distribution module; (4) 550 expanded range detector; (5) EnviroFlow software (windows based); (6) Start- up Kit and Operating Manual; (7) Analytical cartridge for Total Iron; and (8) on-site installation and training. All interested parties may identify their interests, but must provide proof of capability, in writing, to provide an acceptable product by submitting, pricing data, an accurate description of the equipment offered, and make and model numbers of the equipment. Since no solicitation package exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information to establish the vendor's capability of meeting the Government's needs will be considered non-responsive to this synopsis. Only responses containing this data will be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Award will not be made on the basis of responses to this synopsis. If no feasible responses are received by the close of business 30 days from the date this notice appears in the CBD, a contract will be negotiated with the above named source.
