The Government intends to purchase on a "Brand Name or Equal" basis one (1) BHP Model 6127F continuous contract, wet/dry, 16mm/35mm motion picture film printer. The printer is needed for preservation duplication of fragile original motion picutres in the holdings of the National Archives. This printer is equipped with all necessary accessories for printing both 16mm and 35mm film, both color and black/white, both image and sound tracks, and for use both as a wet-gate or a dry-gate printer for both film gaughes. The design of this printer minimizes contact between fragile original film and the transport mechanisms of the printer to minimize the potential damage to fragile orignal film. A detailed description will be provided in the solicitation. The Government contemplates awarding a Firm Fixed Price Contract. Delivery is FOB Destination and includes installation. Offerors of "Equal" products, including products of the Brand Name manufacturer, must: (1) Meet the salient physical, functional, and other characteristics specified in the solicitation; (2) Clearly identify them by; (i) Brand Name, if any; and (ii) Make or Model Number; (3) Include descriptive literature such as brochures, illustrations, drawings and/or other such information corresponding to the required equipment which demonstrates the capabilities of the offeror; and (4) Clearly describe any modifications the Offeror plans to make in a product to make it conform to the solicitation requirements. Mark any descriptive material to clearly show the modifications. If the Material being offered is not Brand Name, clearly indicate that it is an "Equal" product.
