Specialist, CALABRO, ALICE, 202/305-7264 UNICOR, Federal Prison
Industries, Inc. intends to enter into a definite delivery/definite
quantitiy type contract for a Bar Coding System. Bar Coding Systems
will be procured for eleven of the apparel factory locations throughout
the United States. The Bar Coding System will interface with the SYMIX
Shop Floor Control Module and the inmate payroll system. The final
three contractors will demonstrate the proposed system in Washington,
DC order to determine compliance with the contract requirements. The
system will be tested at two of the field sites and upon final approval
the system will be installed at eleven of the institution locations.
Installation will be 60 days after contract award date. The proposals
will be evaluated on Best Value criteria. Evaluations factors are:
Price, Past Performance, Understanding requirements and technical
approach, Knowledge of existing systems, Related past projects, and
Ease of use of the existing system and quality of documentation.
