E-MAIL: Catherine Cavey, Catherine.A.Cavey.1@gsfc.nasa.gov. NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a NASA Institute for Advanced Aerospace Concepts. The purpose of the Institute is to provide an independent, open forum for the analysis and definition of space and aeronautics advanced concepts to compliment the advanced concepts activities conducted within the NASA Enterprises. The Institute will be managed by a host organization (or group of organizations) which will select the Director and support the operation of the Insitute. The primary function of the Institute is to manage the solicitation and selection of Advanced Concepts, including awarding and adminstering the funding instruments, and overseeing the progress of the concept studies. See Numbered Note 26. The anticipated release date of RFP5-08079/230 is on or about June 1, 1997, with an anticipated proposal due date of on or about July 1, 1997. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in ASCII or RTF format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
