necessary to perform drydock repairs including, but not limited to, the
following Minimum items: (1) Renew flying bridge wind screen, (2)
Fabricate/Install bronze sleeves, (3) Remove/Inspect/Reinstall
propeller shaft, (4) Renew propulsion shaft strut nuts, (5) Renew water
lubricated shaft, (6) Repair propeller root erosion, (7) Inspect MDE
8-inch exhaust flapper valves and MDE Exhaust piping, (8) Preserve
transducer hull rings/Renew depth indicating transducers, (9) Install
tank/compartment vent goosenecks & inverted check valves, (10)
Overhaul/Renew/Test valves, (11) Inspect/Overhaul duplex sea strainers,
(12) Clean/Inspect diesel fuel & waste oil tanks, (13) Upgrade Halon
1301 extinguisher system, (14) Provide/Renew rudder bearings, (15)
Overhaul stabilizer fins, (16) Preserve forepeak compartment, (17)
Clean/Inspect sewage/grey water & collection & holding tank(s)/portable
water tanks, (18) Clean, inspect and disinfect potable water tank(s)
and preserve, (19) Inspect/Maintain cathodic protection systems, (20)
Provide temporary messing/berthing/logistics, (21) Routine drydocking,
etc. Indefinite items include, but not limited to: (1) Welding
Repairs, (2) Straighten propeller shaft, (3) Preserve underwater body,
(4) Renew reference electrodes, (5) Renew cathodic anode, (6) Renew
capastic fairing, etc. Vessels' homeport is Woods Hole, ME. Vessels'
availability is September 15, 1997 for 42 days. The place of
performance is unrestricted. There will be a non refundable charge of
$100.00 required in the form of a certified check or money order
payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. All other
referenced documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street,
Suite 600, Norfolk, Va. Funds are not presently available for this
procurement. The government's obligation under this solicitation is
contingent upon availability of appropriated funds from which payment
for contractual purposes can be made. The proposed contract listed here
ispart of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program.
Plans and specifications will be issued on or after 10 June 1997. All
responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the
United States Coast Guard. This notice is for informational purposes
