REVISION TO BROAD AGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT SOLICITATION NO. DAAB07-94-R-DO15, TOPIC NO. S023, VHF/UHF 6-PORT MULTIPLEXER This a revision to Broad Agency Announcement Solicitation No. DAAB07-94-R-D015,Topic Number S023. This special notice replaces the existing BAA Topic No. S023 with the following information: a. Research Interest: "VHF/UHF 6-Port Multiplexer" b. The Space and Terrestrial Communications Directorate is interested in receiving proposals for the development of a six (6) channel VHF/UHF multiplexer for use in tactical Command and Control (C2) platforms. c. This VHF/UHF multiplexer development effort is part of an approved Science and Technology Objective entitled " Army Communications Integration and Cosite Mitigation" (CICM STO). An objective of the CICM STO is to reduce the cosite interference problems that occur when multiple VHF/UHF radio systems are collocated within C2 platforms such as the Highly Mobile Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV), comprising the Rapid Force Projection Initiative Light Digital Tactical Operations Center (RFPI LDTOC), the Command and Control Vehicle (C2V), the Battle CommandVehicle (BCV), the Common Ground Station (CGS) and future platforms utilizing the multiband Future Digital Radio (FDR). d. The multiplexer must provide sufficient isolation between its channels to permit coupling of up to four (4) VHF SINCGARS, one (1) VHF MSRT and one (1) UHF EPLRS to a single broadband antenna in stationary operations, or to two antennas (1 VHF/ 1 UHF) for on-the-move (OTM) operations. The multiplexer should incorporate frequency hopping tuned filters, fixed tuned filters and interference cancellation technologies to reduce the cosite interference encountered on tactical C2 platforms, and should incorporate linear power amplifiers / low noise amplifiers to reduce the multiplexer's transmit / receive insertion losses. The multiplexer's noise figure should not degrade the noise figure of the communications system (radio plus multiplexer) by more than 2 dB. e. One six channel multiplexer prototype is required nine months after contract award. The prototype's size, weight and DC power requirements must not preclude its installation within a HMMWV platform. The prototype must be sufficiently ruggedized to undergo operational field testing within the RFPI LDTOC scheduled in the July-August 1998 timeframe. f. Request interested parties submit proposals by 1 August 1997 to US Army Communications-Electronics Command, ATTN: AMSEL-RD-ST-WL-AA, Fort Monmouth, NJ. The point of contact for this effort is Mr. Steve Goodall, (908)532-0445,Fax(908) 532-0456, E-Mail: goodall@doim6.monmouth.army.mil. This announcement revises Broad Agency Announcement Solicitation No. DAAB07-94-R-DO15, Topic No. S023. Funding for this effort is available in FY98.
