Food and Consumer Service intends to issue a competitive procurement for advisory and assistance services to gather information about WIC local agencies who have successfully coordinated or collocated WIC services with the Bureau of Primary Health Care funded community and migrant health centers and Indian Health Service clinic sites. The project will involve collecting information that describes best practices at sites that have successfully coordinated or collocated WIC services at the above mentioned Department of Health and Human Services health facilities. These model sites will be presented as program profiles in a motivational best practices handbook. Barriers to the provision of coordinated/collocated services and recommendations to overcome them, will also be described in the handbook -- should they be identified. The outcome of this project will be a promotional best practices handbook that is intended to inspire staff at the local level to pursue coordination/collocation of WIC services at community and migrant health care centers and Indian Health Service clinics. The period of performance for this project is expected to be 12 months beginning on or about 01 October 1997.
