Contracting Officer on (301) 496-3704. The National Institutes of
Health (NIH), Medical Record Department, has a requirement for the
provision of mircrofilming services of patients' medical records.
Microfilming services shall include the pick up of inactive records for
filming; cleansheeting and preparing inactive records for filming;
titling and filming; inspecting and testing film; and destroying source
documents upon authorization of the NIH Project Officer. The Contractor
shall provide Cleansheeting (1,411,200 pages per year) and Frame
Filming (1,597,350 per year). These medical records shall be
microfilmed for preservation in perpetuity and must therefore meet
archival standards. In order to ensure prompt delivery of medical
records required for patient care, response time shall be within 60
minutes of the telephone request during customary business hours, and
evenings, weekends, and Federal holiday periods. The contractor shall
provide adequate equipment and staffing to maintain the production and
delivery schedule established with the NIH Project Officer. The NIH
will provide medical records, dividers, filing guide, electronic index,
and computer diskettes. The contractor's staff shall be subject to laws
and regulations under the Privacy Act of 1974. The proposed contract
represents a continuation of a previously completed filming project.
Therefore, all production requirements and standards must be completely
compatible with those pertaining to the previously completed project.
A firm fixed price indefinite delivery type contract will be issued for
a basic contract period of one (1) year with (4) one-year option
periods. This procurement is an 8(a) competitive set-aside for small
businesses. The Standard Industrial Classification is 7389. Anticipated
