NATIONAL INJURY AND VIOLENCE PREVENTION RESOURCE CENTER The purpose of
this contract is to establish a lead center within the Children's
Safety Network (CSN) to continue the work of three current CSN centers:
the National Injury and Violence Prevention Resource Center/CSR; the
National Injury and Violence Prevention Center/EDC; and the Adolescent
Violence Prevention Resource Center. The successful offeror, which
will be designated the National Injury and Violence Prevention Resource
Center (NIVPRC), shall operate the CSN lead sites, one of which must be
located in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. The mission of
NIVPRC is to assist the Maternal and Child Health Bureau to promote the
development of injury and violence prevention strategies in maternal
and child health services, programs, and organizations. Under the
general guidance of MCHB, NIVPRC shall take the leadership in a
collaborative arrangement with other CSN sites, the CSN Rural Injury
Prevention Resource Center, and the CSN Economics and Data Analysis
Resource Center. It shall serve as a resource to provide MCHB and state
and local agencies and organizations with information and assistance in
both injury and violence content and program to increase their ability
to address intentional and unintentional injury among children and
adolescents. The NIVPRC shall also represent CSN and, when requested,
MCHB, with respect to child and adolescent safety issues, in dealings
with national organizations located in the Washington, D.C.
metropolitan area. Solicitation will be issued on or about June 6,
