that appeared in the January 31, 1997, edition of the CBD. Firms that
responded to that announcement will be provided a copy of the RFP and
need not re-apply. NOAA seeks to purchase one imagesetting system for
use by the National Ocean Service. Recording device shall accept up to
48 inch width media (film) by 65 inch length. The output imaging
capability shall range in format size from a minimum 25x30 inches
imaged area to an imaged area of at least 42x60 inches. Equipment shall
accept 0.007 inch film thickness. Require vacuum capability to hold
film in contact with drum while imaging. Require in-line processing
bridge to interface with existing Gov't photographic processors (55
inch Colex RTBW-L; or a 49 inch Kodamatic 125A). Resolution of at least
2400 dpi with a minimum dot size of 0.001 inches in diameter. Require
delivery, installation, and maintenance for a period of one year.
Contract will also contain an option to relocate the equipment and four
one-year options for continued maintenance. All responsible sources may
submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the
