The national Institutes of Health intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, with Landis & Staefa, 11800 Baltimore Ave, Beltsville, Maryland 20705 a modification to increase its level of maintenance service and upgrades for Landis & Staefa's Direct Distributive Digital Control system which is installed in all buildings on the National Institutes of Health (NIH) main campus and buildings located at other sites. This requirement is currently being successfully performed by Landis & Staefa under the provisions of NIH contract #263-95-D-0303. The provided supplies and services are proprietary, and commercial as defined in FAR part 12. The total contracted dollar amount, including this modification, will not exceed $5 million. Landis & staefa is the only known source capable of providing the required supplies and services. this action is under the authority of 41 USC 253 (c)(1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1 and HHSAR 306.302-1.
