OF LOTUS NOTES POC Terence Lew, 202-927-0423 The U.S. Customs Services intends to issue a purchase order to Dyncorp Information & Engineering Technology, Fairfax, Virginia for Phase I Study-Preliminary Analysis, Planning and Business Development of Lotus Notes Infrastructure for Business Processes. Some of the areas that Dyncorp will be performing include: site planning and infrastucture design; hardware standards for services and workstations; notes mail replication strategies; external and remote connectivity; integration with Internet and world wide web; notes certification domain strategies; system administration support model; and help desk recommendations. Dyncorp is currently under contract on the Treasury Communications System (TCS) which is being designed to include a Notes infrastucture. Knowledge of this infrastucture is an integral component in completing the task defined in the statement of work (see areas above). Dyncorp has already developed an invoice processing system in Notes as a model for the prototype. A contract vehicle for this vendor exist for the planned follow-on phases to this task (TIPSS contract). Dyncorp is uniquely qualified to perform these requirement sinice they possess extensive knowledge of Customs requirement from previously developing Business Case for Notes and can perform the requirement within the short timeframes required. It should also be noted that the vendor must be compliant with a software engineering institute capability maturity model level 2 or better and be appointed as Lotus Premier partner.
