Dockside Repairs at homepier, including but not limited to the
following items. 1. Welding repairs. 2. Renew pilot house coaming 3.
Renew Woodwork. 4. Fuel Oil Piping Modification 5. Sail Clutch removal
and Shaft modification. 6. Renew electrical stuffing tubes. 7. Install
deck drains and chart table in pilot house. 8. renew bilge piping,
install new pads on main mast and repair sailing vessel navigation
light fixture on fore mast.9. Install Main Braces and Perform PUll
test. 10. Renew various liferails. 11. Renew air conditioner mounting
frames. 12. Renew passage way and mess deck deck covering. 13. Insulate
piping, renew bulkhead insulation. 14. Modify the sail locker. 15.
Provide temporary logistics. Vessels homepier is in New London, CT and
availability is scheduled to begin 08 Sept 1997. The place of
performance is at the Vessel's homepier. There will be a non-refundable
charge required in the form of a certified check or money order payable
to the U.S. Coast Guard in the amount of $100.00 for requested U.S.
Coast Guard specification required drawings. The proposed contract
listed here is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration
Program and is open to both large and small businesses. Plans and
specifications will be issued on or after 07 April 1997. All
responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the
United States Coast Guard. For Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged
Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to
$500,000 per contract to provide accounts receiving financing. The DOT
Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid performance
and payment bonds up to $500,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80
percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. For
