SPECIAL NOTICE-ELECTRIC COMBAT VEHICLE INT'L CONFERENCE The second all electric combat vehicle (aecv) international conference will be hosted by the u.s. Army Tank-Automotive and armaments command and will be held at the Hyatt regency hotel in Dearborn, Michigan from 8-12 June 1997. This event will provide an open forum for engineers and scientists where information on electric combat vehicle Technologies will be exchanged. The main objective of this conference is to bring together international expertise to advance the STATEOF-THE ART and extend the understanding of the technical challenges in order to meet the demands of the future electric combat vehicle systems. Papers will be presented on the following topics: (1) automotive electric drives; (2) combat power systems; (3) system architecture; (4) energy storage devices; (5) power semiconductor devices; (6) electronic packaging; (7) switching topologies; (8) electric launchers; (9) active and semi-active suspension systems; (10) active armors; (11) power supply. During the first three days, papers will be presented in parallel sessions to enhance opportunities to attend sessions of interest. Approximately 100 papers will be presented during these sessions. Posters will also be available for viewing each day.
