The building has both a strong historical and architectural presence in downtown Norfolk, VA. The goal is to renovate the interior of this building into a modern working environment for the Customs Service, while maintaining the historical and architectural fabric of the building. Major components of the proposed renovation include new and/or updates HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/sprinkler, and security protection systems. Also included is the requirement to solve the water infiltration problems. Due to the historical and architectural development of this project, contractors are required to submit with their proposal certain past performance criteria, including but not limited to the successful completion of at least three interior renovation projects of similar size and complexity. Past performance will be evaluated as part of contractor's responsibility. Estimated contract value is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. SIC code is 1542.
