E-MAIL: U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command,
carlockm@cc.tacom.army.mil. STRIKER Engineering Manufacturing and
Development (EMD) program is a continuation of the Bradley Fire Support
Team (BFIST) Program designed specifically for the Combat Observation
Lasing Team (COLT) in the heavy and light divisions. The STRICKER
Program integrates the BFIST Mission Equipment Package (MEP) into HMMWV
chassis supporting heavy and light force fire support operations. The
system consists of a modular design with an open architecture, high
performance computing system that interconnects the individual modules
(i.e. communications, targeting, laser designator, and navigation) and
controls their functionalities under the supervision of an operator.
The EMD phase will include delivery of two systems for contract and
government-directed testing and test support. The acquisition will be
negotiated on a sole-source basis with Systems and Electronics Inc.
(SEI) of St. Louis, MO pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. See numbered notes 22
