The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) at Patuxent River, MD has a requirement for Exabyte tapes, part number EX-AME 170M, for the Exabyte EXB-8900LCD Mammoth tape drive. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; REQUESTS FOR QUOTATIONS ARE BEING REQUESTED WITH THIS ANNOUNCEMENT AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This procurement is being processed in accordance with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Part 13 of the FAR. This is a request for quotation (RFQ) number N00421-97-Q-1121. Procurement will be made via a DPAS "DO" rated Government purchase order, which will incorporate provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-45 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-11. The applicable SIC Code is 3695, with a size standard of 1,000 employees. Quotations offered in response to this RFQ shall be in the following format: CLIN 0001 -- tapes, 1120 each. Tapes are Exabyte part number EX-AME 170M. Delivery of 500 tapes is required by 7 July and delivery of the balance (620 tapes) is required by 31 July 1997. Delivery point is Kekahna, Hawaii. FOB destination pricing is required. The provisions at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial (Oct 1995) is incorporated by reference and applies to this acquisition. Award shall be made to the offeror with the technically acceptable, lowest priced quote, with the ability to meet the required delivery dates.
