Randolph, Contracting Officer, 702-652-4383 The Contractor shall furnish all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision and other items and services necessary to perform laundry/dry cleaning services on government furnished property located at Mike O'Callaghan Federal Hospital, 4700 Las Vegas Blvd N, Las Vegas, NV. Solicitation number F26600-97-B0006. Period of performance will be 1 Oct 97 through 30 Sep 98 plus four option years. This will be an indefinite quantity contract. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with the International Fabricare Institute, American Institute of Laundering, Institute of Industrial Launders, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and all guidelines established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Pickup and delivery shall be to Bldg 1300, Mike O'Callaghan Federal Hospital, 4700 Las Vegas Blvd N, Las Vegas, NV. Schedule is: Pick Up Deliver Monday Wednesday Tuesday Thursday Wednesday Friday Thursday Monday Friday Tuesday All pick up and deliveries shall be accomplished between the hours of 6:30 AM and 11:30 AM. When a holiday occurs on a scheduled pick up or delivery day, the scheduled pick up and delivery shall be performed on the first workday following the holiday (Mon through Fri). Weighing and/or counting of articles, including the laundry bag, shall be done by Government personnel prior to pick up. The Contractor shall verify weight/count by signing a pick up ticket for the items being picked up and such signature constitutes his agreement to the Government's weight/or count unless specified exception is taken. The Contractor will be given a copy of the delivery ticket at time of pick up and then again at time of delivery. The original pick up ticket will be retained by the Government for computing variance in weight when clean/dry laundry is delivered. The following are specific requirements for packaging of laundry/dry cleaning: hangers shall be of a type that do not stain garments, bulk laundry shall be wrapped in plastic, in consistent quantities of easy to handle size, bedside screen curtains shall be packaged by size based on the number of eyelet's on the top of each curtain, operating shirts and trousers will be packaged with like items, being separated by color. All linen is considered contaminated. The Contractor is responsible for properly handling contaminated laundry. Nursery and pediatric garments shall be washed, rinsed free of soap, treated with a souring agent and a sufficient quantity of softening agent to insure fluffiness and sterilization. The Infection Control Officer reserves the right to inspect the laundering facility with ample notification to Contractor. There must be a contingency plan in place, in the event of equipment failure, to ensure no disruption of services. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as an Invitation for Bid (IFB). This procurement is reserved for small business concerns, utilizing the size standard in FAR 19 under Standard Industrial Code 7219.
