Contractual, Charlene Davis/Jo Ann W. Mette, 912-652-5068. The project entails a subtitle D closure of 22-acre sanitary landfill at Fort Benning, Georgia. Major components of work include construction of a 2-foot thick layered cap consisting of compacted clay and a geosynthetic clay liner, installation of passive gas vents, site drainage improvements, modifications to existing monitoring wells, onsite excavations, establishment of grassing, installation of erosion control, fencing and construction of a perimeter access road. Due to regulatory requirements, the closure of the landfill will consist of two distrinct phases, each with a specific contract duration: (1) construction of all earthwork and the passive gas vents, (2) construction of all remaining supporting facilities and grassing. Network Analysis System will be required. Estimated cost range of project is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000.
