The U.S. Army Chemical and Biological Defense Command intends to negotiate with Harris Corporation, Rochester, New York, under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c) (1) for the delivery of 63 each 400 Watt High Frequency (HF) Radio Communication Systems and support equipment. The initial acquisition shall consist of 28 radios and support equipment. Option A will involve a quantity of 30 radios and support equipment. Option B will involvle a quantity of 5 radios and support equipment. Option quantities may be awarded at any time from contract award through December 1998. The radios will be used in support of the Biological Integrated Detection System (BIDS) and the Joint Biological Point Detection system (JBPDS) programs.
