Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for a Carl Zeiss LSM
510 Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope or approved equal for an
axioplan 2 upright microscope. The system shall meeting the following
criteria using air or water 40x objective and a laser source provided
with the instrument: (1) Step standards -- 1.88 micron step measured to
+/- 10% and 22.9 micron step measured to within +/- 2%; (2) Standard
Reference Material 2073a: Sinusoidal Roughness Specimen -- roughness
average: 3.05 +/- 0.034 micron, measured to within +/- 5% and peak to
valley: 9.5 micron, measured to within +/- 5%; (3) Grating -- capable
of resolving lines on a grading specimen having 400nm spacing. Complete
specifications shall be issued with the Request For Quote (RFQ) --
Quantity: 1 system -- Destination: NIST, Gaithersburg, MD -- Delivery
is expected within 90 days after order is placed. -- This requirement
is being procured using the test program identified in the Federal
Acquisition Regulations Subpart 13.6. -- All responsible sources may
submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. -- RFQs
