75 -- SAFETY LOCKOUT PADLOCK WITH KEY SOL FSIS-27-W-97 DUE 053097 POC Contact Point, Anita Voiselle, (202) 720-9891 THIS IS A CORRECTION TO ORIGINAL REQUEST FOR BIDS. CORRECTIONS ARE NOTED IN BOLD TYPE. The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is accepting bids for 15,000 sets of safety lockout padlocks with key. The lock and key must be marked "Safety Lockout." The set must be made of durable lightweight xenoy body, be tamper resistant and non-conductive. THE COLOR OF THE LOCK SHALL BE BLACK. One side shall be labeled "Danger" in red, and "LOCKED OUT -- DO NOT REMOVE" in bold letters. The other side shall have a permanent write-on label. Each set must contain a restricted safety key which cannot be removed when the lock is open. Only one key shall be provided per lock. The key shall be restricted from duplication. Every lock must be keyed differently. The lock shall have an extra long shackle. Dimensions for lock body shall be 1-3/4" x 1-1/2", SHACKLE LENGTH 1-1/2" FROM BODY IN LOCKED POSITION, shackle 1/4" thick. Product currently being used is a Masterlock 410KD. All sets shall be delivered to Landover, MD. A partial delivery of 5000 sets shall be delivered within two weeks of award (approximately 06-18-97). All bids shall be FOB destination. Purchase shall be made under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Bids must be received in the contracting office by 3:30pm ESDT on Friday, May 30, 1997. Bids may be faxed to 202-690-1814.
