FINLAND: REGULATION ON TYPE APPROVAL REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTAIN RADIO RELAY LINK EQUIPMENT, THK 10/97 M The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.97.195. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: FINLAND. If applicable, name of local government involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2). 2. Agency responsible: Telecommunications Administration Centre (TAC). Agency or authority designated to handle comments regarding the notification can be indicated if different from above. 3. Notified under Article 2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where applicable, otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where applicable): This draft regulation shall apply to digital and analogue (video) radio relay link equipment operating within the frequency bands 21.2 to 23.6 GHz and 37.0 to 39.5 GHz and to analogue wide-band audio link radio equipment operating within the frequency band 308 to 319 MHz and 1519 to 1525 MHz. An individual frequency assignment and a license are needed for the use of all these equipment categories. 5. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: Regulation on Type Approval Requirements for Certain Radio Relay Link Equipment, THK 10/97 M (4 pages, available in English). 6. Description of content: This draft is a new regulation. Its main purpose is to implement nationally ERC Decisions ERC/DEC/(96)08 (ETS 300 197), 09 (ETS 300 198) and 16 (ETS 300 454). This regulation defines, besides transmitter, also for the receiver part requirements necessary for the efficient use of the radio frequency spectrum. The conformity assessment procedures will be aligned with the new draft ERC Decision (ERC/DEC/(97)AA) on mutual recognition conformity assessment including marking of radio equipment and radio terminal equipment as soon as this Decision after final adoption in July will be adopted in the relevant national regulations. Concerning wide-band audio links as soon as spurious radiation becomes covered by the relevant harmonized EMC standard this regulation will be amended to remove this requirement from the type approval regime. The regulation contains a mutual recognition clause for test reports from other European Economic Area countries.
