The Bureau of the Public Debt (BPD) will issue a commercial item solicitation for audits of fifteen (15) separate Government Trust Fund financial statements for Fiscal Year 1997, and options to audit three (3) future fiscal years' accounts. The audit services shall include audit of the BPD managed Trust Fund financial statements, evaluation of internal control structure, assessment of compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and assessment of whether the information and manner of presentation in the "Overview of the Reporting Entity" section is materially consistent with the information in the BPD Trust fund statements. Additionally, audit services will include a SAS-70 review of Federal agencies Investment Accounts transactions for which BPD acts as the Government's central agent. The SAS-70 review will include a review of internal control policies and procedures, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
