R -- SERVICES: FABRICATION 280 SETS REVERSIBLE BDU'S SOL DAAK60-97-T-7219 DUE 061397 POC Purchasing Agent SANDRA SHOFF (508) 233-4126 (Site Code DAAK60) US Army Soldier System Command has a requirement for all services, personnel, equipment, facilities, supplies, and perform all other necessary actions for production of reversible BDU coat and trousers in quantities set forth in quotation. Government furnished materials will be the finished fabric, buttons, zippers and patterns. Five sizes of ech set will be made for total of 280 sets. There will be two types of trousers. Half with button fly closure and other half with slide fastener closure. Coat and trousers will require (2) two garments be made for insurance that it meet salient characteristics for it's reversibility, finished dimensions and quality assurance. Coats and trousers will be made in size medium regular. One trouser will have a button fly, the other will have slide fastener fly. The seaming for the double lapped seam will be sewn with lockstitch on top and bottom. This shall be incorporated whether using single or double needle seam. Traditional seaming for this seam uses chain stitch onwrong side, but because this garment is reversible a lockstitch will be used for both sides of garment. Successful offeror will be required to work closely with the Government COTR to ensure sample garment can be duplicated and to work with redesigning trouser fly to use a slide fastener in place of buttons. Reversible sample garment will be available by appointment only by contacting Sandra Shoff, Purchasing Agent. Responses must be received in WRITING ONLY within (15) fifteen days of this notice. The applicable SIC code for this effort is 8999. For the purpose of this requirement, any concern earning 3.5 million or less is considered small business.
