Facilities Service Office, U.S. Postal Service, 7800 N. Stemmons Freeway, Suite 400, Dallas, TX 75247-4217

Y -- PREQUALIFICATION FOR NO-PROJECT TOO SMALL DESIGN/BUILD INITIATIVE, SOUTHWEST AREA SOL Prequalifications DUE 072597 POC Jim Pankovics, (214) 819-7231. NO PROJECT TOO SMALL DESIGN/BUILD INITIATIVE. The U.S. Postal Service, Dallas Facilities Service Office is soliciting Design/Build Prequalification Statements from Design/Build entities interested in being placed on a prequalified design/build contractors list for "no project too small" design/build application initiative. Design/Build project applications will include repair and alteration projects, renovation projects, and expansion projects. Other design/build applications such as Postal Stores, special projects, etc., may be included. We are seeking design/build entities that are ready to accept the small design/build project challenge to respond to leased/owned facility project needs in the Southwest Area which includes the seven District areas of Arkansas, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, New Orleans, Oklahoma and San Antonio. A separate design/build prequalification statement is to be submitted for each District area for the design/build project (-$50,000.00 to $2,000,000.00+). Each Design/Build Prequalification List, to be used as a resource, will remain effective for one year from notification of placement on the list with the potential of five one-year renewable options to extend the expiration of the list. In the event the number of prequalified design/build entities is not sufficient to insure "adequate competition," the Postal Service reserves the right to prequalify additional design/build contractors who will be eligible to receive design/build solicitations. Interested firms may obtain a design/build prequalification package, dated May 15, 1997, at no cost by submitting a written request to Debbie Elliott at the Dallas Facilities Service Office, U.S. Postal Service, P.O. Box 667180, Dallas, TX 75266-7180 or by faxing a request to Debbie Elliott at (214) 819-7280. The design/build prequalification package will be sent by mail to firms that request it; it WILL NOT be faxed to the firms. The PRIMARY evaluation factors that will be evaluated, based on factual information furnished for the last fiveyears, in descending order of importance are: 1. Demonstrated past successful Design/Build entity performance on completed projects in the specific range (-$50,000.00 to $2,000,000.00+) with BOCA, SBCC, or UBC classified light industrial completed projects; 2. Demonstrated past successful performance satisfying design phase contractual requirements with designer and its consultants by the key personnel of the "project manager" and "job site superintendent" teams; 3. Financial stability. There are subfactors with each primary factor. Design/Build Prequalification Statements will not be returned. Design/Build Statement consisting of an original and two signed copies (blue ink) must be submitted (not in comb ("GBC"-type bindings) and received at the address listed not later than close of business (4:00 p.m., local time) July 25, 1997 and not exceed fifty (50) single-sided typewritten pages that are sequentially numbered by the design/build entity: Dallas Facilities Service Office, U.S. Postal Service, 7800 N. Stemmons Freeway, Suite 400, Dallas, TX 75266-7180. Design/build entities are encouraged to submit their design/build prequalification statement via U.S. Postal Service methods (Express Mail, First Class, Priority Mail). (0147)
