The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), Department of Defense, is conducting market research to survey market capability on improving the quality and consistency of its facilities maintenance and repair program. DeCA supports approximately 209 commissaries, with an approximate aggregate area of about twelve million square feet, in the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii and Guam. We are seeking information on national or regional contractors with backgrounds in facilities maintenance and repair with specialized experience in retail supermarkets, including HVAC and refrigeration systems. The anticipated cost per work order is expected to be small, in the range of $100 to $5,000, but may be as high as $100,000. The nature of the work will require short response times, from as little as two hours to several days, depending on the scope of work. Parties should submit the following information: historical references; methods of operation and organization; anticipated response system and accessibility; company capabilities and subcontracting requirements. Information submitted should address the complete facilities demands of a major supermarket chain, including the performance of emergency, routine and cyclical maintenance for extended periods. Building systems include architectural (including roofing), mechanical/electrical (including HVAC, refrigeration, lighting and food display cases), specialty systems (communications, security) and site systems (including parking, landscaping, drainage, sewer). DeCA will evaluate the potential impact of contract maintenance based on the information received. This is a request for information only and is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). Companies responding to this notice will be placed on a bidders mailing list should a subsequent solicitation is issued. No cost or pricing data is required or requested; however, you may provide your current published commercial price list, if available. As such, submissions for this requirement will neither be considered nor processed as unsolicited proposals. The Government will not provide payment for any material provided in response to this synopsis, nor will the Government return the data provided. All data will be for official Government use only.
